Barwell precision preformers and extruders in their various forms in both hot feed and cold feed versions are used worldwide in the polymer processing industry for the simultaneous extruding and cutting of accurate blanks.
Blanks of virtually any shape, with any given weight and diameter can be produced with a guaranteed volumetric accuracy. To produce such a large range of blank shapes we use two different head types, the first being the General Purpose (GP) head, which is used for most general preforms. The second is the Shoe Sole head which has been specially designed to produce shoe soles and heals for the shoe industry.
We also produce Vibracools which help in the cooling and separation of the blanks produced from the prefomer. Our ancillaries help in saving labour and maintenance of our preformer.
Although all preformers can be used as extruders simply by disengaging the cutter, we can also supply purpose built ram extruders in a range of sizes or pressure ratings up to 10,000 psi. Ram extruders are often used for screening or filtering impurities from specialised materials.
Both round and rectangular extruder heads are available for the production of a wide range of sections for both the polymer processing and tyre retreading industries.
